Systemless in a Parallel World

Chapter 77 Destruction

"If the City Lord and merchants are interested in the termination of the Mutated Gluttony Termite Queen, it makes sense that they are willing to pay handsome rewards for the mission. If the Mutant Gluttony Termite Queen were to kill the old Gluttony Termite Queen with a suicidal onslaught the manufacturing of the beauty products would stagnate, resulting in a much bigger loss."

It was even possible that the Mutant Gluttony Termite Queen would die while killing the old Gluttony Termite Queen, which would inevitably stop the whole manufacturing process of the beauty products.

For a moment Zayn was sad because he had hoped that he could kill both colonies of Gluttony Termites but that feeling quickly disappeared when he realized the true worth behind the Gluttony Termite Queen hunting mission.

One could easily earn a fortune by collecting the gel-like substance of the Gluttony Termites, followed by a big reward for the completion of the mission as well.

Countless Gluttony Termites were currently waiting to become his nutrition and means to increase his fortune even further!

That was more than enough reason for Zayn to be overly satisfied and confident. It was still early in the morning and he could easily reach the neighboring colonies of the Gluttony Termite Queens on the Mocalw Bear Spirit\'s back.

Zayn did exactly that. He left the Adventurer Hall and Zerek in a hurry before summoning the Mocalw Bear Spirit and rode it at full speed for only an hour before a large field with countless termite mounds emerged in front of him.

To his right, Zayn saw a large area that had been surrounded with a metal fence. When Zayn took a look at the fence, he saw a bunch of warning signs depicting quite clearly that the City Lord didn\'t want anyone to enter the fenced area.

Zayn didn\'t intend to do anything like that. He just wanted to kill a bunch of termites, particularly the termites outside the fence.

It was not his mission to kill the termites but it was a necessity to finish off the Mutated Gluttony Termite Queen.

However, before doing anything dangerous, Zayn summoned the two Sparrow Spirits that thoroughly surveyed the surrounding area. Zayn wanted to make sure that no one would find out about his Human Spirits once he summoned them as well.

He planned to stay a little longer in Zerek, after all.

When the Sparrow Spirits returned with good news, Zayn summoned Herculean and Agile without a waste of time. Then ordered the Herculean Human Spirit to stir some trouble by destroying the closest termite mound.

It was important to take it slow and be a little polite, after all. Knocking on the door of his opponent before barging inside was a must!

Zayn didn\'t have to wait long before the first wave of Gluttony Termites charged outside the mound that was being destroyed by Herculean\'s large iron mace and the hard efforts of the Agile Human Spirit.

Even the Mocalw Bear had begun to participate in the destruction of the mound.

"Get back," Zayn ordered quietly but in a voice that was loud enough for his Spirits to hear. They returned to his side while an interesting situation unfolded in front of them.

The small insects were much large than expected. The smallest termites were three centimeters in size, while the biggest he came across was close to 10 centimeters in size.

Shudders ran down Zayn\'s spine as he looked at their pale bodies that were somewhat translucent, yet milky white. Each of them had two antennae on their head and six legs. He was only fortunate that none of the termites had wings, otherwise, Zayn would have probably run for his life.

The Gluttony Termites had large mandibles which they clicked against one another aggressively as if they wanted to show the anger they felt toward the beings who dared to infiltrate their sacred lands and destroy it.

They had simple eyes, which means that the Gluttony Termites had a single lens without a large retina, as was the case in most vertebrates. They stared at Zayn and his Spirits for a while before charging at them.

"Well, that will be interesting, for sure..." Zayn mumbled to himself as he unsheathed the silver iron shortsword and his saber.

The soulblade formed around the tip of his weapons which was more than enough to fight the Gluttony Termites. He pierced the blade through their thorax, cutting through their hard exoskeleton as if he was cutting through butter.

Zayn was already in possession of a Soulring, which meant that he was strong enough to cut through ordinary opponents who were not even in possession of many soul particles, in the first place.

The ownerless soul particles of the Gluttony Termites\' Soul Wisp were half of the gains he made from a Goblin Skeleton. That clearly hinted at the weak power of the Gluttony Termites.

However, one couldn\'t underestimate them because there were simply too many of them. In terms of numbers, the Gluttony Termites surely won the game.

To their misfortune, the opponents they faced weren\'t really fazed by their numbers. The Spirits could execute as many extravagant attacks as they wanted since their Stamina would never be drained. That was also how the Agile Human Spirit ended up issuing a bunch of high-velocity punches with its karambit knuckles before it retreated. The Gluttony Termites didn\'t die from a single high-velocity punch, but that was exactly what the Agile Human Spirit wanted.

It could cut through the Gluttony Termites using the razor-sharp blade of the karambit knuckles if it wanted to, but it rather crippled the Gluttony Termites, leaving the final blow to Zayn, who would then absorb the ownerless soul particles of the Soul Wisps which only he could see.

Meanwhile, the Herculean Human Spirit didn\'t care about that. If a bunch of Gluttony Termites died due to the brut force of the large iron mace that was swiped left and right in an attempt to hit as many targets as possible, that was perfectly fine with it.

The only one who cared even less about the lives of the Gluttony Termites was the Mocalw Bear Spirit, the bulldozer in Zayn\'s group!
