Chapter 419: Janet+3, Race Talent

Chapter 419: Janet+3, Race Talent

Su Yang, who was on the phone, did not manage to dodge in time and was shone by the strong light directly in his face.

At that moment, he could only feel his vision instantly going white, it was like he had arrived in a world filled with only sunlight.

There were even bright spots in front of his eyes.

Thankfully, he had reflexively closed his eyes, so his eyes did not suffer any further damage which was a silver lining for him.

The strong light swept through the front yard, illuminating the front yard like a searchlight. However, Little Hus did not seem to feel the light at all. Instead, it widened its eyes to look towards the source of the light.

In the end, its mouth slowly opened like it had seen something incredible.

A moment later, Su Yang opened his eyes and saw Janet kneeling on one knee in a huge pit. The ground beneath her feet cracked as if she had suffered a huge damage.

Su Yang asked in surprise, “What’s wrong?”

Little Hus pointed at Janet and kept gesturing with its front legs. “Woof woof woof!”

‘Has it gone crazy...’

Su Yang looked at it and felt that the dog was behaving a little strangely...

Soon after, a virtual interface appeared in front of him, and a surveillance video played on it. It was obvious that Little Deeny had witnessed what happened earlier, hence she replayed the recording for Su Yang when she noticed his confusion.

After the orange light exploded, Janet crossed her arms in front of his chest and appeared out of thin air. Immediately after, his body exploded, turning into seawater that filled the sky.

The seawater covered the whole villa like there was another sky on top of the existing virtual sky...

Countless sharks appeared in the water and swam towards him. More and more sharks gathered and they were all looking in the same direction which was at the center.

A moment later, a golden crown slowly descended from the sky and landed on the seawater.

The moment the crown fell, the seawater suddenly retracted, turning into a giant shark that spanned across the sky. The shark looked to be more than 10 meters tall and its teeth were sharp and terrifying. A golden crown was placed on its head, as if it represented its supreme authority.

When the orange light dissipated, the giant shark landed onto the ground with a loud bang. When the dust cleared, only Janet was left there with a huge pit beneath him...

Su Yang looked at Janet in shock. He noticed that there was a golden crown mark on Janet’s forehead. ‘What’s this...

‘Have I just unlocked something amazing?’

Just as Su Yang was thinking about this, a notification popped up in front of him. [Shark+3, size increased and obtained a Race Talent.]

‘I’ve seen a monster’s size increasing before, but what’s [Race Talent]?’

As Su Yang thought about this, he clicked on Janet’s talent. Instantly, a detailed introduction of the talent appeared before him.

[Race Talent: King (Level 1)]

Talent: Those who possess this talent would be the king of all races. They have a natural control over their own kind. Furthermore, they can command their own kind to carry out tasks that don’t go against the other party’s will.

Restriction 1: This talent is unique. Only one monster is able to obtain this talent per race.

Restriction 2: This talent can be contested. Those who possess this talent must allow their own kind to contest for this talent. The winner of the contest shall become the next king by replacing the existing one.

Note: Since you are born to be a king, you have to shoulder the responsibility of the herd.

‘Hang on? This talent doesn’t seem to be restricted to a shark only.

‘After all, there aren’t any mentions about this talent being related to sharks. In that case, does this mean that [Race Talent, King] could be obtained by every race?

‘Would there be a king amongst humans then?’

Out of curiosity, Su Yang shifted the question mark to [Race Talent]. As expected, there were some introductions.

However, these introductions had nothing to do with humans. They only introduced [Race Talent] and [King].

[Race Talent, A special talent that can affect a race.]

[King, The only leader who leads a race on the path of evolution. You may upgrade this talent to unlock more functions.]

‘Hmm... It feels like the introduction of [Race Talent] is no different from what I had expected. However, the introduction for [King] is somewhat different thought.

‘I thought that having a “natural control over its kind” is due to the effect of the talent, but it seems like it’s just an additional effect. Furthermore, it’s only an additional effect from [King (1)].

‘The main purpose of being [King] is to lead its race on the path of evolution.

‘Based on this, a human is definitely able to be [King] as well.

‘Then... am I able to become [King] then?

‘Is this a talent that is obtained randomly, or are there conditions to be fulfilled before obtaining it?

‘If it’s completely random, then I think it’s going to take a long time before I’m able to get it...

‘There’s too little information for me to draw a conclusion for now.’.

Su Yang closed the system interface and looked at Janet.

Janet had already gotten up from the ground. He seemed to be adapting to the changes in his body and was moving his limbs. After a while, he walked over and stood beside Su Yang.

Su Yang looked at him. His appearance had not changed. Even the crown on his head had disappeared. It was as if nothing had happened.

Su Yang asked, “Have you... had any changes?”

Janet nodded seriously. “Responsibility.”

Su Yang was puzzled. “Responsibility?”

Janet nodded again. He stared off into the distance and then said, “I can feel the responsibility of being a king. I can feel that my kind is waiting for me. They may not have sentience and the ability to speak, but they yearn to evolve and become intelligent beings...”

“I can feel the responsibility I have to shoulder and also their yearns for evolution in their blood...”

Su Yang looked at him and deliberated for a moment before asking, “In that case... how are you going to help them evolve?”

Janet shook his head. “I don’t know. I only know that I might be able to obtain more clues to that answer if I continue to have my points added.”

On that note, he knelt on one knee and begged Su Yang, “Master, could you please give me more points the moment you are able to the next time? I really want to help my own kind. The entire shark race including myself will be your guardian for generations to come.”

Su Yang hesitated for a while before helping him up with both hands and said with a serious expression, “I promise you. Don’t worry.”

With Su Yang’s confirmation, a smile finally appeared on Janet’s face. Su Yang recalled that this was the first time he saw Janet smile...

In order to find clues that could lead Janet to race evolution, Su Yang gave him the freedom to enter and exit the virtual space.

Until that point, only Sanque, Pool and Bubbles had the authority to do so.

In essence, it was an authority that was only extended to monsters that could shoulder an industry on its own. Additionally, it also possesses the appearance of a human and would not be discovered by ordinary people...

Now, Janet had that authority as well

Looking at Janet’s racial talents, Su Yang really wanted to go surfing, especially in the sea.

He tried to sort out their relationship. ‘Sharks are kings of the sea, Janet is the king of sharks which means that he is the king of kings. Moreover, I’m Janet’s boss...

‘That means I’m... King of the Sea!

‘The vast sea is my home now!

‘In that case, even if I were to offend a large corporation or a powerful figure so much that I could no longer continue living in a particular country, I could ride on a shark and escape.

‘So I can literally be on both offense and defense.

‘How wonderful.’

Just as Su Yang was enjoying himself, his WeChat rang. Su Yang picked it up and saw that it was Chu Xia.

‘Chu Xia?

‘Why is she suddenly looking for me?

‘Didn’t she say that she was busy?’

Su Yang had contacted Chu Xia a few times over the past few days. However, Chu Xia said that she was a little busy and hung up after a short conversation. ‘Is she done with her work?’

...

Actually, Chu Xia had been really busy recently because she had sold her novel to a film company for the rights of producing it!

She was overjoyed since it was the first novel she ever published.

Therefore, after settling her school matters, she accompanied her mother to the headquarters of the website to negotiate and sign the contract.

The process took more than a week.

The reason why Chu Xia did not chat with Su Yang was because she was really busy. Secondly, she wanted to give Su Yang a surprise. Thirdly, her mother was always by her side.

Initially, she wanted to explain everything that had happened to Su Yang when she got back. However, for some reason, she had a strong urge to contact Su Yang at that moment.

She could not help but feel confused at her uncontrollable urge. ‘What’s wrong with me?’

Before she could figure it out, she received Qu Xiaomeng’s WeChat message.

She picked it up and her face turned pale.

‘Chu Xia... Su Yang was called over by the counsellor yesterday to give him a lecture because... he was courting a new student.’

‘I know you’re busy and that it’s inconvenient for you right now, so I wanted to wait for you to come back before telling you this. But after thinking about it, I felt that I should tell you this morning. ‘

‘Alright then... I’ll let you know again if I know something else. Good luck.’

Looking at the three messages, Chu Xia felt her mind go blank. Her hands were shaking, and her knuckles were turning white.

There was only one sentence echoing in her mind, ‘Su Yang was courting a new student...’

Her mother was chatting with the website’s copyright owner and she seemed to have noticed something. She looked at Chu Xia curiously and asked softly, “What’s wrong?”

Chu Xia forced a smile and said, “It’s okay, Mom.”

Then she bit her lip and said, “I need to go to the bathroom...”

Chu Xia’s mother touched Chu Xia’s hand and said, “Alright, hurry back now.”

Chu Xia nodded and quickly ran out the door with her phone.

Chu Xia’s mother looked at Chu Xia’s back and then at the tissue in her bag. She shook her head slightly.

However, she quickly averted her gaze and apologized to the copyright owner before continuing the conversation.

After leaving the room, Chu Xia could no longer control herself. She took out her phone and wanted to call Su Yang.

However, no matter how hard she tried, she just could not bring it upon herself to call him.

In the end, she leaned against the wall and took a few deep breaths to calm her throbbing heart. She then turned off the phone call interface and sent Su Yang a WeChat message instead. ‘What are you busy with recently, Mr. CEO?’
